Let's talk here the teaching of Brother Eli Soriano with regards to the name of the Philippines. Since March 16, 1521 to 1543, Philippines according to Eli Soriano had still no name.

Eli Soriano: Mula nu’ng March 16, 1521, hanggang noong ahhh 1543. 21, 43., More or less 22 years walang pangalan ang bansang ito. Dalawampu’t dalawang taon ng naririto sa pananakop ang mga Kastila at nagkaanak na sila rito, wala pang pangalan ang Pilipinas. Not until 1543, pagkalipas ng 22 taon, nang si Magallanes ay mag-landing dito sa Pilipinas, pagkalipas ng 22 tao’y pinangalan nitong Pilipinas. [hayop sa wiwid] Sa karangalan ng haring Felipe II ng España.

Let us try to ask one of our historian here in the Philippines Mr. Gregorio Zaide regarding this matter. And this is what we could read on his book PHILIPPINE POLITICAL AND CULTURAL HISTORY, Vol. 1, p. 3:

“Philippine Names in Song and Story.
“In 1521 Magellan named the country ‘Archipelago of St. Lazarus,’ for it was on the feast day of this saint when he reached the Philippines. Since then other names had been applied by European writers to the archipelago, such as Islas del Poniente (Eastern Islands), Islas del Oriente (Eastern Islands), Islas de Luzones (Islands of Mortars), Archipelago de Magallanes (Archipelago of Magellan), Archipelago de Legazpi (Archipelago of Legazpi), and Archipelago de Celebes (Celebes Archipelago).”

According to Zaide, The Philippines has several names since 1521: Archipelago of St. Lazarus, Islas del Poniente, Islas del Oriente, Islas de Luzones, Archipelage de Magallanes, Archipelago de Legazpi, and Archipelago de Celebes.

So what can we say about the teaching of Brother Eli Soriano? It is clear to be one of his absurd teachings.
